Terms and Conditions for New Barnet Carpet Cleaners
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which New Barnet Carpet Cleaners provides domestic and commercial cleaning services. By making a booking, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. These conditions are intended to create a fair and transparent service arrangement covering the booking process, payments, cancellations, liability, waste handling, and the legal framework governing the agreement.
In these terms, references to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the carpet cleaning service provider, and references to “you” or “the customer” mean the individual, business, landlord, tenant, or other party requesting the service. The terms apply to all carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and related stain treatment services supplied under the New Barnet carpet cleaners name, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
By engaging New Barnet Carpet Cleaners, you agree that any quotation, estimate, booking confirmation, or service schedule is subject to these terms. If any part of the terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights where they cannot be limited by contract.
All bookings are subject to availability. A request for service does not become a confirmed booking until it has been accepted by us, either verbally, electronically, or in writing. We may ask for key details before confirming a visit, including the type of flooring, approximate room sizes, access arrangements, preferred dates, known stains, fibre type, and any special requirements. Accurate information helps us assess suitability and provide a fair quotation.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all areas to be cleaned are accessible at the agreed time. This includes making sure that furniture has been moved where agreed, pets are secured, and the space is ready for work to begin. If the property is not ready, or if access is delayed, we may need to adjust the schedule or apply a waiting charge where reasonable. Any changes to the original booking requested by you may result in revised timings or pricing.
We may offer quotations based on room count, floor area, item type, condition, or estimated time on site. Unless otherwise stated, quotations are based on the information supplied at the time of booking. If the actual condition of the carpet cleaning job differs significantly from the description provided, we reserve the right to amend the quotation before work begins or during the service if additional work is required. Examples include excessive soiling, heavy pet contamination, lingering odours, large furniture moving, or specialist stain removal.
All prices will be communicated in advance and may be stated inclusive or exclusive of VAT, where applicable. Payment is due in the method and within the time frame agreed at booking or on completion of the job. Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, payment must be made immediately upon completion of the service. We may accept bank transfer, card payment, cash, or another agreed method, but we are under no obligation to accept a particular payment method.
If a deposit is required to secure your booking, the amount and conditions will be explained before confirmation. Deposits may be non-refundable where we have reserved time and resources specifically for your appointment, especially for larger or specialised carpet cleaning service bookings. Any balance remaining after a deposit must be paid in full once the work is completed unless there is a genuine and documented dispute regarding the quality or scope of the service. Failure to pay may result in recovery action, additional administrative charges, or suspension of future services.
Where a quotation includes optional extras, such as stain protection, deodorising, furniture moving, or deep treatment for specific fibres, these will only be charged if you approve them. We may also charge extra where the customer requests work beyond the original scope. This includes additional rooms, extra items, or repeat treatment of a stain that required more than one application. Any additional cost will be explained as soon as practicable.
Cancellations and rescheduling must be made as early as possible. If you need to cancel or change your appointment, you should notify us promptly so that the slot can be released. Depending on the notice given, we may retain part or all of any deposit or charge a cancellation fee where we have already incurred costs or lost business as a result of the reserved appointment. The amount retained will be reasonable and proportionate to our actual loss.
Where less than 24 hours’ notice is given, or where a visit is cancelled on arrival, we may charge the full or partial service fee, particularly if staff, equipment, and time have already been allocated. If access is not provided at the arranged time, this may be treated as a late cancellation or missed appointment. For recurring or business bookings, repeated changes or cancellations may affect the availability of future appointments.
We may also need to reschedule if weather, illness, travel disruption, equipment failure, safety concerns, or other events beyond our control make it impractical or unsafe to complete the work on the planned date. In such cases we will aim to offer a revised appointment as soon as reasonably possible. Where we cancel for reasons within our control and no alternative can be offered, any prepaid sums for the affected service will be refunded for the cancelled portion.
We will carry out our services with reasonable skill and care, using appropriate methods and cleaning products selected for the job. However, carpet and fabric cleaning can produce variable results depending on age, wear, fibre type, previous cleaning history, staining, sunlight exposure, and existing damage. Some marks may be permanent or may only lighten rather than disappear completely. We do not guarantee that every stain, odour, or blemish can be fully removed.
It is your responsibility to disclose any known risks before work begins, including colour instability, shrinkage history, delicate fibres, hidden damage, infestation, underlay issues, water sensitivity, or previous chemical treatments. If we identify a risk during the service, we may stop work on the affected area, use an alternative method, or recommend that the job proceeds only at your instruction and risk. You accept that some materials are not suitable for standard New Barnet carpet cleaners treatment and may require specialist handling.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, consequential, or economic losses such as loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of enjoyment arising from the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to a particular booking will normally be limited to the amount paid for the relevant service, except where the law requires otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
The customer is responsible for removing fragile, valuable, or easily damaged items before the appointment unless we have expressly agreed to move them. Where furniture moving is included, it will be done carefully and only to the extent that the item is reasonably movable by our team. We will not be responsible for damage to items that are unstable, poorly assembled, previously damaged, or unsuitable for movement. If you ask us to move an item against our advice, you do so at your own risk.
We are not responsible for pre-existing faults, including worn carpet edges, faded areas, loose seams, pet damage, rusting furniture feet, watermarks, dye transfer, or cleaning-related changes that arise because of hidden condition issues. We may take photographs before and after the service for internal records, quality control, and dispute handling. These records may be used to assess the state of the property and the work carried out, but we will process them in accordance with applicable data protection law.
If a complaint or issue arises, you should notify us within a reasonable time after the service so that we can review the matter. We may ask for photographs, product details, access to the treated area, or an opportunity to inspect the result. If a valid issue is identified and the concern is within our control, we may offer a re-clean, a partial refund, or another appropriate remedy. The choice of remedy will depend on the circumstances and our reasonable assessment of the matter.
All waste generated during a carpet cleaning service will be handled in line with applicable UK waste regulations. This may include wastewater, dirty extraction residue, used cloths, disposable protective materials, packaging, and contaminated debris removed from the treated area. We will dispose of our own operational waste responsibly and in accordance with environmental and safety requirements. Customers must not ask us to discharge waste in a way that would breach legal or environmental obligations.
Where wastewater must be disposed of, we will do so only by lawful and appropriate methods. The customer must provide safe access to suitable disposal points if required, and must inform us of any restrictions on drains, plumbing, or building rules. We are not responsible for pre-existing drainage problems, blockages, or local authority restrictions affecting waste handling. If hazardous substances, biohazards, or unexpected contaminants are present, we may suspend work and recommend specialist disposal or remediation.
Any items, materials, or substances removed from the premises remain subject to applicable waste legislation, and we may refuse to handle anything that is unsafe, illegal, or beyond the scope of ordinary carpet cleaning operations. The customer must ensure that the working environment complies with health and safety obligations and must not request disposal of prohibited waste through our service. Our approach to waste management may change where the law or best practice requires it.
We will not be liable for delay or failure to perform any obligation where the delay or failure is caused by events outside our reasonable control. This includes severe weather, transport disruption, utility failure, industrial action, fire, flood, government restrictions, equipment breakdown, or acts of third parties. If such an event affects the service, we will try to minimise disruption and, where possible, arrange an alternative date.
Any property damage claim must be reported as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within a reasonable period after the service. The customer must take reasonable steps to prevent further loss or damage, such as allowing affected areas to dry properly and avoiding unnecessary use of the cleaned surface until it is ready. Claims cannot be assessed properly if the affected area has been altered, interfered with, or cleaned by another party after our visit.
These terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in law, business practice, or service arrangements. The version in force at the time of booking will generally apply to that booking unless a change is required by law. If any wording is unclear, it should be interpreted in a way that is consistent with the overall purpose of the agreement and the applicable laws of England and Wales.
The contract between you and us is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions, the booking, or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise. If you are booking on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to do so.
By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you accept these terms in full and that the information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge. These Terms and Conditions form the basis of the service relationship for carpet cleaners in New Barnet and should be read together with any quotation or service note issued for the relevant appointment. If there is any conflict between these terms and a written agreement signed by both parties, the written agreement will prevail to the extent of the conflict.
These terms are intended to protect both the customer and the provider by setting out clear expectations for payment, timing, service standards, and responsibility. Whether the work involves a single room, multiple floors, or a larger commercial instruction, the same core principles apply: honest information, fair pricing, lawful waste handling, and reasonable care throughout the service. Using New Barnet carpet cleaning services means accepting these conditions and the practical limits of what can be achieved through professional cleaning methods.
